"Aloha Sister Manwaring !

What an exciting opportunity to be called as a sister training leader! My wife and I are excited to work closely with you. I am confident in your leadership. You are one of our most effective sister missionaries in the mission and my expectations are high. Your assignment is only for a brief period of time. Please report directly to me- I may also ask my wife to assist in other sisters issues. We love you and appreciate you for accepting this special assignment.

President Lopez"

Yes. Its true. I got the call last night, I'll be transferring and becoming an STL. I don't know yet where I'm going and who my companion is but I'm so so so excited. And scared. Its like laughing a ton and then throwing up, thats the emotion right now.

Okay, I'll start back at the first of the week...

Monday: After my mini-breakdown over Sera's preference dress, I caved in and ate some ice cream which helped me recover quickly. Thats one downside of being in contact in such a disconnected way, all I get on my side is a picture and an email and I don't get to be there to see all the every day stuff. Sera, I love you!!! I don't take back what I said but I'm okay now, I don't think you are the devil ;) We did all the normal stuff, email, shopping, then before we went out to work that night we had to battle an army of ants that was making base at our door. It took water, broom, fire, and permitherin but we got the little buggers!

Tuesday: Saw Sister Judd at district meeting (sad that I'm not in her district anymore) and she's such a doll, brought me a treat for my 1 year mark. #BenefitsOfHavingYourBestFriendInYourMission
We went out to Sunriser to visit all of our kids. When I first got here we had 2 appointments in that area, now we spend 5 hours going from appointment to appointment. It's literally a space the size of our yard and we just teach everyone there. We had our first baptism from that area saturday and will have the next two this saturday. Its my favorite favorite area to work, so much  fun and everyone is SO super prepared.
I had a dream that I was teaching the restoration (btw all of my dreams are just about work and  teaching. I can't dream about normal things anymore) and in my dream I taught the priesthood, apostosy, and restoration by using a remote and batteries with the remote representing the prophet or church and the batteries the priesthood- I decided to try using it in the lessons today and now we're addicted, its super clear for the investigators to understand and it holds their attention so well to have a visual to show what we're saying. We use it in almost every lesson now haha either for teaching or reviewing.
Walking home from work that night we heard on the other side of the wall in our compound a domestic disturbance coming from the squatters area and upon closer inspection found out it was coming from the house of one of our new investigators, lots of yelling and screaming and crying (the lyrics of Concrete Angel start running through my head) and we stood there trying to decide if we should go try and help or what to do but while we were deciding the yelling died down to crying and then faded off. Ugh, I hate having to see things like that, it really makes for meaningful lessons though when keeping the word of wisdom isn't just about health but about the sanity and safety of your family life.

Wednesday:  We taught our recent convert, 11 year old Gernalyn, about temples today! So great, she had so many questions! Why do you need to be baptized before you can go inside? If you aren't baptized for your dead relatives will they just go to hell? How do they know at the temple if you are a member or not? Why do you have to be twelve to go inside? Not like super deep questions but she's so young and people here don't usually question what we teach, so it was so great to see her really paying attention to what we were teaching! It was a bittersweet lesson though because her dad isn't a member (we're working on that) and she understood that her family wasn't sealed and couldn't be unless her dad was baptized, so she was pretty sad but we told her thats exactly why we are here, we want to help her family get to the family and be sealed together forever.
We went to a members house and taught their cousin, 17 year old Mia, we taught restoration using the remote and it was awesome, she understood super well and it made it really easy for the spirit to testify to her because she could really get what we were saying. We asked her to pray at the end and she was so nervous, she had never prayed out loud before and was super shy, but after a little prodding she finally prayed. So cool, she got about halfway through with  superficial things, then started to get sincere and ask about what we taught, and she started crying and had to cry for a second before she could finish. When she closed her family was right there to hug her and testify that it was the spirit that was bringing those good feelings and that it meant it was true #ImportanceOfMembers and on my side it was the best feeling, its those moments when you really feel like you're doing your job right :)

Thursday: ONE YEAR. WHAT IS THIS. I still remember a year ago today! The night before me and mom ran across the snow covered mountain from Bountiful to Salt Lake. I remember getting ready at Grammas house, going to the Provo temple and taking pictures. We stopped at Subway before dropping me off at the MTC because Cafe Rio was super crowded, mom and dad just stared at me while I ate as if I was never coming home. We drove to the MTC and they dropped me off, I was praying and praying and praying that I wouldn't cry. Nate and Clay wouldn't let go of me, I gave everyone super hard hugs, and thank goodness my escort was cute, I happily left with him (Palagpat) looking back over my shoulder to see Sera crouched on the sidewalk crying- the two of us could barely make eye contact the days before we were so sad. I went inside the MTC for the first time in a bubble of homesickness protection, such an answer to my prayers. Just inside the door they clipped on my nametag for the first time, GLORIOUS moment, I've been obessessed with my tag ever since. Took my stuff to my room, got all my books in the bookstore, Hiligaynon to the surprise of the employees, and went to the classroom. The teacher kept saying "Oo" which I thought was "Uh oh" and assumed I was doing things wrong. Met Sister Roos, my best best best friend for the next 6 weeks, went to dinner and then to the new missionary "hazing session" where 30 or so of us try to teach one investigator and I became thoroughly convinced that the souls in our missions where in deep trouble as we obviously had no idea what we were doing. I sat next to Gabe Murdock, my highschool preference date, we went into the MTC the same day. After that ordeal we were taken on a tour of MTC campus by our zone leaders and sister training leaders, the STL being Mary Moody, Quincy's best friend from Vegas. I was totally lost, tour or not, we finally made it back to our room after one of the longest days ever, prayed together, and went to sleep.

And now a year later, here I am!

It was a really weird day of work too, sometimes I get moments when I just really want to call home and talk about every detail of the day like I used to back at home. Mom, remember the time when me and Cam were on our way home from Canada and when we stopped off to show Brayden Temple Square I went off by myself behind the old tabernacle and called you and we talked for like 3 hours? Yeah, I wish I could've done that, such a stress reliever :) But its alright, the key here is to work!! Its just as effective and I'll just save up all my details for our runs :)

Friday: I don't know what it is about fridays, I seriously cannot remember what happened haha. We worked! I guess thats it!

Saturday: BAPTISM. Jemalyn and Viva were baptized today :) It was such a good baptism, lots of support from the ward and the Spirit was really there. We stood at the side of the font with Jemma and Viva instead of sitting in the other room, and it was so special to hold their hands while they waited for their turns to go into the water (The Elder's baptisms went first). They are so so awesome, Heavenly Father is super preparing all the children here. After the baptism Jemma asked if she could be baptized again haha, I took it as a teaching opportunity and explained that she could feel that happy every week when she takes the sacrament. Viva's uncle is an RM who lives in Manila so he flew in to see her baptized, then he invited us to lunch at their house after. He just spoke a ton of Tagalog but since being companions with Sister Oquias I can pick up on a lot of Tagalog now. He really loves the missionaries and always works with them back in Manila, he was showing us pictures and there in the picture is Sister Friendale Sia from 6th ward! She worked with us all the time when I was in 6th ward and I was there when she got her call and left, now she's serving in his ward! Small world. He also like gave me all of this old money? Like this really philippines currency from the 1940's and he gave us both these bags from Thailand. Okay, I'll take it! Really nice of him.

Sunday: Church was great, everyone that was supposed to come did, and it didn't rain! Praises be sung. Jerlyn and Roselyn were interviewed for this Saturday and did awesome, so proud of them! It was a brown out so no AC at church and no fans during studies after church. We opened up our back door and pulled our table over so that we could have a small breeze while studying. I was still dripping sweat. We went out to work like normal and while at our last appointment the AP's called to tell me I would be transferring. I was able to pack super fast because I had already practiced when we thought we were changing apartments haha. I spent the rest of the night writing notes to my recent converts and investigators. I didn't know what to put for contact information and I didn't want to lose contact with them, so I included our house number haha, its also the only number I can still remember! So should you randomly get a call from a little kid with a thick accent, you'll know why ;)

Its so crazy that everyone at home is getting calls, I totally forgot that a ton of girls will be going!! I had no idea that Jessica Langston is going??? Who else? Where is she going? Thats so so so awesome of them!!! Congrats gid!

Mom, you are a beast!! I can't believe you're just picking up another 100 miler, no big deal ;) And Dad!! You're gonna do awesome!!! Just think of all the ice cream you can eat after from all the calories you will burn!!! You two are ridiculously amazing.

I want to get pictures sent off before I have to log off, I'm emailing earlier because I have to be early to the mission office to get my companion and stuff, but I'm going to try to log on later to get your emails because only mom has written me so far since I was early. So Sera, Dad, etc, please still write and I'll grab them later! I'll try and also send a quick note of an update of who and where.

I LOVE YOU ALL SOOOOOOOO SO SO SO SOS OS OS OS OS SOSOSOSOSOSOSOSOS MUCH. AS IN.

Have a fabulous week!

Sister Training Leader Manwaring ;) *shout out to sister ellsworth*

dearly beloved...

Dearly beloved...
Just finished reading your emails!!! Scattered thoughts and emotions so I'll just start from last Monday and go as best as I can remember.
Monday: Had family home evening at a member's house. Their dad was shot when they were little and the mom was still 5 months pregnant, and they are so super active and such a great family. They have some cousins who aren't yet members and some less active so they joined us for the family home evening. One of the less actives came to church on sunday!! More on that later. I love starting the week with family home evenings!
Tuesday: We met with our recent converts, Jessica and Amy, they're the ones who live with the caterer who always feeds us. He was gone at work and they took of break from chopping and peeling vegetables to let us teach, then we stayed an extra 20 minutes to help them.
Wednesday: We were waiting for one of the ward missionaries to meet up to work with us and there is this bench outside the church that we wait on and there was this guy waiting too on the bench so we decided to OYM him while we waiting. Two seconds into the conversation we realize that he is extremely crazy. As in. Oh well, everyone needs a chance to hear the gospel! So I just pull out a pamphlet and ask him questions like does he know who is in the picture? does he know Jesus Christ? amo na. And he starts going off on this crazy man rant saying "YEAH YEAH JESUS HE COME DOWN OUT OF THE SKY TO ME. DOWN TO ME. I KNOW HIM. JESUS. HES JESUS. CAME DOWN TO ME." So I point to the church behind us and say "yeah, thats His house! Come visit on Sunday!" and then the ward missionary came so we gave him the pamphlet and left. He was still yelling at the picture as we walked away.
Thursday: Same theme as wednesday, some crazy drunk guy comes up and asks if I'm from Australia or America and then proceeds to describe all the men in the philiipines "You know, there are many men in the Philippines! Handsome men, rich men, short men, tall men, skinny men, schooled men, men who chop wood," we pulled out another pamphlet (life savers) and handed it to him, invited him to church, and left as he still listed off all the different men.
Friday: Spacing. Literally can't rememebr what happened.

Saturday: BAPTISM. Brother Romeo was baptized! He was supposed to have an upod, an old lady, but during her interview they found out that she had killed someone back in the 60's so now they're waiting on higher auhority for her to be baptized. But Romeo's baptism was so so great, he was so excited and there was a ton of members who came to support him and his testimony was so sweet! He has changed so much since I first met him, he's always smiling now, he never complains about feeling sick, its so great to see the effects of the gospel at work!
Sunday: Rained. SO. Hard. Meaning that attendance fell about 50 percent. I have no idea why the people here are SO adverse to rain but it might as well be raining bullets the way they act. Romeo came anyways!!! So did a bunch of our other recent converts and investigators!!! One particular surprise, you remember Edralyn? Our recent convert? So we've branched out to teach her family and her gramma came to church yesterday!!! The last lesson that we had taught her was on prayer and the importance of praying for spiritual confirmation of our teachings. People have a really hard time following through with this one, we will commit them to pray about something very simple, teach them the steps of prayer, even write in their book of mormon the question they will ask. Then we come back and the haven't prayed. It usually takes a few lessons before someone will try and pray and then maybe one or two more to recognize the answer. So thats what I was expecting with her gramma, then she showed up at church!! She told us that she had done what we asked, she prayed and asked if she should visit our church and she said she felt something touch her head and felt a voice say that she should go and observe. So she came! Simple as that! And remember I told you that the LA came as well? So we did a similar prayer lesson to her as well, and committed her to pray and ask Heavenly Father if He wanted her to go to church that Sunday. She came and then told us that she had also done what we asked, prayed, and not only asked if she should go but promised to Him that she would go, and she didn't want to break her promise to Him. Its just so so so important that we pray! That relationship with Him is what will motivate us to do right.
Mom, I already emailed you but I have to say again how proud I am of you!!!! YOU ROCK. And how awesome that you have sunny and Kris to do all of that with you!!! And of course, most important, you have dad :) You two are the coolest ever. Geez I love you guys!!!!
Thanks also for sending my package!!! I'm super excited :)
I hope you all have a fabulous week! You're always in my prayers and I love feeling yours :) love you love you love you love you!!!!!!!

Sister Manwaring

hello the people i love mostest!

Hello hello hello!

So last Monday we went to family home evening at one of our members houses, their house help is one of our recent converts. This family is super fun and their kids speak english and like with no accent because they are in an international school, so its soooo weird for me to hear kids speaking fluent english!! And the kids don't understand ilonggo so I just spoke english to them. So anyways, you know how kids have this knack of embarrassing their parents and saying the most uncomfortable things in front of other people? Yeah so there is a pause in conversation and their 6 year old takes the opportunity to say "I'm going to be circumcised!" oh his poor mother hahahaha and I was trying so hard to not laugh my head off.

We have this group of kids that we've been teaching for about a month and they come to church every single Sunday and we've finally met their families and started teaching them too. One of the kids, Jemalyn, we met her dad and talked with him, got his permission to teach her and for her to go to church, etc, then we asked to share a small message with them so he can also know what we are sharing with his daughter, he agrees. Its a great lesson with him and Jemalyn but he says that he isn't interested for himself to go to church or keep learning, he'll just listen if we come by and its fine by him that we keep teaching Jemalyn. Jemma has been asking us for 2 weeks if she can be baptized and we explained that she needed permission, but shes been to afraid to ask her dad. So at the end of the lesson we told him that Jemma has wanted for a while to be baptized and before we can even ask for permission he is like "Yeah, of course, I've been wondering why she hasn't said anything. If she is going to be joining herself with your church she should do it right and be baptized." Jemalyn was so happy she started crying, it was the coolest moment. So she gets to be baptized at the end of the month and we'll keep working to soften her fathers heart so that he will follow.

As you saw on President's facebook we had zone conference this week and it was at the mission home * hallelujah* except we were all so excited to sit in aircon all day and then the power went out for most of the day. Everyone was fanning themselves with pamphlets until President passed out pieces of cardstock paper and a few feather fans. The conference was super good, every time I feel so selfish because the topics are always exactly for me! I just take up all the revelation for the meetings haha ;)

We went to teach a recent convert who is now also less active, baptized back in october and has only been to church a handful of times since. As we're talking we find out that she still hasn't been reading the book of mormon daily and even though she says shes praying you can tell it really isn't sincere. We share our lesson, set a time for her that she will read the book of mormon each day, and then try to commit her to church on sunday, and she starts oozing tons of excuses. Sunday is the day they sleep in cause there is no school, she has to make breakfast for the family, she has clothes to wash, the kids have school projects, etc. And then starts complaining about how long the 3 hours is and can she just come to sacrament meeting. It felt like she was just punching me in the face. The whole time running through my head was the Savior and how sad He was with what she was saying. He sacrificed EVERYTHING for her. So much more than we can EVER imagine. And here she is, complaining about three hours of church- a blessing!! Oh it hurt my feelings so bad. I just prayed and prayed and prayed to know what to say and suddenly before I even realized what I was saying I asked if she believed that this was really the true church. She said grudgingly says that she isn't really sure right now. So now we can finally get somewhere. We followed up with other questions, why she was baptized, how she came to that decision, but still at the forefront of my thoughts was the Savior. I said "Notce, we are so glad that you are being honest and open with us, we can't help you unless you help us to understand. But I know that all of these doubts you have, these questions, they're important but the biggest thing for you to figure out right now is your relationship with Jesus Christ. Because I know that if you truly understood that relationship you would be reading the book of mormon every day. You would be at church every sunday. You wouldn't have doubts about His church. So before you solve anything else, you need to strengthen that relationship." Man, it was a really tough lesson for me. Not to teach, but like I said, it just hurt me so much to hear her talk like that. How terribly sad to be recently baptized in the church and let yourself get to that point.

Romeo is going to be baptized on Saturday, the elders have another old lady being baptized so we're secretly planning that their baptism will just be their first date ;) He had his interview on Sunday and we had a coordination meeting when we usually are waiting by the front door to welcome people, then after the meeting we went to the door. Everyone came in, investigators, recent converts, etc, and we were still waiting on Romeo. He is really old and can't see very well so sometimes he is late finding his way to the church, so we didn't think too much of it. But after about an hour we start to get kind of nervous, he sometimes gets sick and we were hoping he didn't just decide to stay home. We decided to go into the gospel principles class with the other investigators instead of stay waiting at the front. The whole time I'm praying that he'll just come that nothing will hold him back and we go in the class and I keep asking that he'll just come. Suddenly Sister Oquias says "Hey! Theres Romeo!" And I look up to the front and there he is just sitting at the front of the classroom. Turns out while we were in our coordination meeting he arrived at the church and just went straight back to his priesthood classroom and then continued on to gospel principles. So my prayer was answered the whole time! Haha I think theres a lesson in that ;)

Even though I've been out about a year I'm still not used to some things. Like the fact that I'm constantly on display. I stopped the other night to get something from the chungey and drew a crowd, like 7 people just standing around watching me buy mints. Kids touch me as i walk by, just reach out and stroke my arms. Everyone wants to play with my hair, touch my face, its so funny. I don't know that I'll ever get used to it haha.

So about the homecoming dates mom, thats the 25th that Im in St. George. I'm totally okay with going to bear lake but would we be able to just spend that first night at home? I for sure want you to do your race and I'd rather go with you than stay home, but basically I just want a hot shower and time with you all :) Oh and cafe rio. Those are my only requests ;)

Love you all soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much!!!!!! Have an awesome week!!!!!!!!

Can't think of a good subject this week. Its like being forced to write a status every time you get on Facebook

Hello everyone :)

So mom, timing gid on your questions, I guess I really have to start figuring out what the heck I'll do when I get home haha. Shucks. So yes, I want to go to school and ideally BYU Provo. But I know that I need to start applying now, preferably for the spring sememster that starts in January. So can you please find out when the application deadlines are so I can be all set to go? I may need help on your end with filling out applications since I don't know how much I'll be able to complete from this end. As for finances, I'm planning on using those few months while I'm home to work and save up for school. So.... Cam... my dearest favorite older brother.... ;) If there is any opening in that bazillion dollar business enterprise of yours I would be uber grateful :) Just a thought. Also, congrats on the Oscar. But like, legit that is ridiculous. Send me a picture of you holding it pleeeeeeezethankshaveagreatday

Monday is always a day for printing pictures because no one here has access to an actual camera or money for printing. So we always take pictures at the baptisms, at church, and at their homes and I print them out for them. I remember when me and Cam visited his mission and he did a family photoshoot for a family there, totally something I look forward to doing when I have a chance to come back and visit. No one here has nice family or individual photos here like we have at home, its all the selfie-facebook-pictures. So I'll be soo happy to bring a nice camera and take legit pictures for them.

Edralyn was baptized on Saturday :) Her mom attended, hooray!! But shes one of those stress case moms and has something evil against her youngest daughter, for instance when we were taking pictures she refused to have the littlest girl in the pictures because she said she was ugly and would just ruin it. I just grabbed the girl and put her in the pictures anyways haha. So then during the service Edralyn gets up to go out to the font and we get up to follow, only to realize that her mom is no longer in the room. We ask them to wait and run outside and there she is walking down the road with the little girl, taking her home because she thought she was being bad. So we run and catch her and tell her to come back so she doesn't miss the actual baptism (gani) so she comes back, watches, then goes home. I'm so so happy for Edralyn's choice, shes such a self motivating little kid, and every time we baptize someone I'm just that much more thankful for my own experience when I was baptized, mostly that it was much more full of love and care, the kind we can't give as missionaries.

We have a group of 3 girls, Viva, Red, and Johana, who were planning to be baptized at the end of the month, but yesterday Red and Johana's parents decided that don't want them baptized right now. Viva will still be baptized, so thats great, her uncle is an RM living in Manila and is flying in just so he can baptize her. Red is her best friend and lives with them and Johanna is the cousin, the uncle was going to baptize all three of them, they're all 10 years old. We were super sad that their parents are doubting, we're not going to let it go so easy though, please pray for them to understand how important this is for these girls.

Remember Jade? He was supposed to be baptized this Saturday. Then... we got an "I love you" text from him. Ratz!!! We pretended like nothing happened, the text came about an hour before we were supposed to meet with him, so we went anyways and he never showed up. Sunday was supposed to be his interview and he didn't even come to church. So now he is MIA and apparently in love with us, not the gospel. Curses be to all. Also not quite giving up on him yet, although we might pass him over to the elders...

Saturday after the baptism we offered our help to Bishop and he asked if we would clean out the storage shed at the church. So us and the elders spent about an hour battling dust, cockroaches, rat poop, moldy church manuals, and definitely the black plague. In our skirts and suits hahaha. Oh, where is the district crew when you need them?

Random things- The Suarez family couldn't do their laundry this last week. Why? Because one of their chickens fell in the well and died and got all moldy and dead gross and made the water disgusting and so they finally found it and fished it out but the water still stunk for like three days. And I'm pretty sure they're going to die now.
 -  We were teaching and something plopped onto my hand, this huge lizard just fell off the ceiling onto me. I didn't scream but I did throwy scriptures on the ground in a spastic effort to get it off. (Flashback to Hawaii when we had harmless little geckos in the house and Cam threw one in my direction and I got scared and mad and locked myself in the car for three hours. Oh how times have changed).
- I am in love with fishballs, tempura (fried squid), and kwik kwik (deep fried egg). Literally so delicious.

Mom, do people from here chat you on facebook? I was at Bob's last monday and the guy who played violin with me at the Christmas concert, nic or something, was there and was like "Hey! I chatted your mom on facebook yesterday!" and I was like "what??" hahaha so yeah, do random people from here just chat you guys?

Its so weird to hear about everyone getting their mission calls.... like what? Next time I see you all you'll be wearing garments too? And will be RM's too? Oh yeah, I will be home September 25, I asked my buddies in the mission office. So mom, you can sign up for your race, no worries!

I love you more and more each day! Thanks for putting together a package, you guys are the bessssttttttttttt. Shoutout to Gramma Jenkins! I finished reading grandpa's journal, super in awe that we're related :) Have a fantastic week, keep doing all the good things, you're in my prayers and I always feel yours :)

Happy happy happy happy days!

Dear goodness gracious, I just can't get over how very much I love you all. Every time I read all of your emails I feel like the grinch "And his heart grew 3 sizes bigger that day". Basta, love you all so much.

Last Monday: THE RUINS. We heard of this place to go visit and me and Sister Judd and our comps wanted to go there last monday and when we passed it by our district leaders they wanted to come too, so we turned it into a district activity, the first I've had in my mission because this is the first time I've had somewhere to go haha. It was THE COOLEST. Google it!! ( I will also send pictures). So first, I got to just spend a few hours with JESSICA. Oops, Sister Judd haha. DREAM. We all rode out there in trikes, and okay, The Ruins is just this magical place out in the middle of these rice fields. SO COOL. And they were playing this oldies music throughout the grounds, "The Very Thought of You", "Wonderful World", etc. I was in heaven. Pictures will explain it best so I'll just make sure I send those.

We have been having problems with our land lord and he was supposed to come pick up our water bill.. never did.. and our water was shut off for a day. We were brushing our teeth from our water bottles. Couldn't wash dishes, etc. Just gross. So we told the couples and they got frustrated and said we would just move. So we had to pack alllllll of our things, even food, and get ready to move in the morning. The owner flipped and hurried and took care of the bill and got the water back. And we got another call saying we wouldn't move after all. So we unpacked.. allllllll of our stuff again hahaha. KAPOY. Also, we would've moved in with Sister Judd.... so dang it haha. Okay gid! It would've cost a ton in travel, their area is pretty far from ours.

Jessica Dayo was baptized on Satuday :) yayayayayayayayayayayayayaay sooooooo awesome :) It was a really great baptism service and she is super strong, totally going to serve a mission next year. Just the best.

So fast sunday, right? We start our fast saturday after lunch and go out to work like normal. That morning was the baptism and brother wycoco made a ton of good food and I let myself eat a lot more than normal because i'd be fasting, right? Kay so we go out to work and we stopped by this one investigator family because they told us it was their grandkids birthday and they "had a little something prepared". They've been telling us for like 2 weeks not so we couldn't not go, and they are seriously so poor, so we didn't expect much prepared for the birthday. We had planned to just drop by and say hi, sing them a hymn and go. We thought wrong. We go and there is a TON of people, they're all gathering int he biggest hut at the back of their lot and they have been cooking and preparing this feast like all day. And we are the guests of honor. So now there is no way that we can say "no thanks, we aren't eating right now." so I look at my companion and she just shrugs and we had to eat a butload of spaghetti and bihon and this stuff made from flour and eggs and sugar and all this fruit salad. plus cake. KILL ME. So we ended up just extending our fast to dinner the next day. What we do for our investigators haha. Also I pulled out my camera to take a picture of the birthday kid so I could print a copy and give it to them, the mom sees my camera and gets sooooo excited and next thing I know we're doing a family photoshoot and she is soooo hopeful that I will print them pictures. They only have crappy phones to take pictures and no way to print them. So now I have a ton of pictures to print hahaha but its okay, I was called to serve right? not just called to preach.

A crazy guy showed up at church on Sunday, like realllyyyyyy crazy, he stayed for all three hours and during gospel principles they gave time for testimonies and he gets up and says that he wants to come to church every week and serve the mormons, then he systematically goes around to all the old men and brings them up to the front so they will bear their testimony. No one has any idea who he is. He also sat next to our old man investigator all through sacrament meeting, just volunteered himself as a fellowshipper haha. Whatta champ. No idea where he came from, he couldn't really clearly answer our questions. No idea if he'll show up again next week or if he just made his appearance and is done. SO funny though. I wished so bad that Sera or someone was there because no one else thought it was funny like me. I also always think that during testimony meeting, SO FUNNY but only I think so. This week this olldddddd guy gets up and is shouting his testimony and says "HE WAS MURDERED. THE PROPHET JOSEPH SMITH WAS MURDERED." Oh our poor investigators hahaha.

Edralyn had her interview yesterday, she did awesome and will be baptized this saturday :) soooooo happy.

Never enough time! I wish so often that i could just phone at the end of the day and tell you all everything! I will literally just force you all to read my journals when I get home. You know me, I can't stand not having you all know every detail of everything that happens to me hahahaha. Also, yeah mom about the package, I would LOVE more zip fizz, I still have rations from Christmas but I'll be out pretty soon. And just do another leather journal similar to what you sent before, that was perfect. I can't think of anything else to send right now...? I'll think this week and let you know! But just the sooner you get it off the better, I'm getting low on pages in this journal. Oh actually, can you guys do a fhe thing or something and put in handwritten notes from everyone? A letter is like crack for a missionary. Clayton wins the best of the best prize, I LOVE the little notes he sends! Thanks clay! *point* Okay, Im gonna get those pictures off!
